Harris County Flood Control District

Mr. Jeff Lindner is the Harris County Flood Control Districts’ first meteorologist. He monitors 154 rainfall and stage gages and collects data at over 400 bridges located on many of Harris County’s 2,500 miles of channel.

  • Forecasted rainfalls amounts for Harvey
  • Operations inside the Harris County Emergency Operations Center during the event
  • Rainfall totals across the county including spatial coverage and magnitude
  • Historical context of Harvey against other recent storms in southeast Texas
  • Damage associated with the flooding
